Posted by Mr. Geraghty | September 15, 2016 | Hired Attorney | Criminal Defense

Took me almost 3 years to recover.

3 years ago I hired Ms. Clevenger to assist me in defense. I was being charged with child abuse and my son was being taken from me. After a brief meeting, I thought Ms. Clevenger was on my side and ready to defend me. I was scared of losing my son, nervous, and had never been to court, I didn't know ...what to expect. Ms. Clevenger advised me to make a deal with my son's mother. This agreement put me in an awful circumstance that at the time I didn't understand. Because Ms. Clevenger knew I didn't have the money, she swayed me into an agreement that left me without my son, unless supervised for an unnamed amount of time. I was under the impression we would revisit this issue and continue. Instead, over half my retainer was taken and I NEVER heard from her office again. Due to Ms. Clevengers advice I have spent over 30k and 3 years trying to get my son back from this untrue accusation. I would NEVER recommend this lawyer or her old office, Levy Craig.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
