About Jason
Biography
Jason R. Covington has over fifteen years of experience as an Assistant District Attorney with the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, where he served as a Division Chief and Section Chief of the Special Victims Unit (SVU). During his tenure, he litigated thousands of cases for the State of Kansas, including over forty jury trials. His casework involved serious crimes such as homicides, violent offenses, sex crimes, and crimes against children which required substantial courtroom litigation, media engagement, and high-stakes negotiations.
Jason also served as an instructor at several law enforcement and legal training programs, and chaired multiple committees, including those focused on child sex offenses. His contributions also extended to the Kansas Judicial Council, KCDAA, and the Kansas Bar Association.
Jason left the public sector in June of 2021 to join JocoLegal. Jason now focuses exclusively on the practice areas of personal injury, estate planning, and probate. Jason uses his extensive litigation experience to help his clients in and out of the Courtroom.
