I hired Joseph to help me with a custody modification. My situation was an unusual one and I was very nervous about it. He assured me that I had a solid case and that I should be able to easily get what I asked for. After months of poor communication, conflicting information, and feeling like I had... to micromanage his work, he sent a proposed parenting plan to the opposing counsel for a settlement. This plan was sent before I approved it, read it, or gave consent. It didn’t include one major factor I asked for it to include, one of the major reasons why I hired him in the first place. He filed discovery questions that were supposed to be answered within 45 days. 8 weeks went by with no answers to those questions from the opposing counsel. When asked why we haven’t received the info, he kept telling me he was working on it. Nothing in my case file shows evidence to support that. After spending well over $4000 in 6 months, I decided to hire a different attorney. He then tried to bill me another $300+ for a weeks worth of work (work on the parenting plan that I didn’t approve for him to submit, emailing the opposing counsel to withdraw that proposal, and texts of me asking him why he submitted it without my approval or what I asked for.) When I received my case file from him, he also sent me confidential information from someone else’s case file, including their criminal charges.
