Not helpful!

This attorney slow walks my daughters case. Been trying to get to court to get a divorce for her, and not very happy. Would not suggest.

Not looking out for you, not doing his homework. Only fighting for you inside the courtroom.

This guy has a reputation as a real go-getter in the courtroom. Unfortunately, he didn't do much for me outside of the courtroom. Maybe I wasn't clear enough with him about what I needed. After all, I was in emotional shock and was only there because a friend told me it was my only recourse. Mr. ...Riehn failed to tell me how to accomplish what I wanted, seemed surprised when he eventually understood what I was trying to accomplish, and failed to file the necessary motions until it was way too late to do any good. I needed him to take ownership of my case, and clearly advise me on what actions I needed to take for my part. My infrequent meetings with him were little more than pep talks, not productive at all. Mr. Riehn gained my confidence by expressing outrage at the things my then-spouse was doing, but it never led to any results. My ex offered a settlement deal out of a rare moment of kindness and frustration with wanting to move on. However, the agreements between us for the DR-1 did not match what ended up in the decree and it's leading to all kinds of headaches now. Mr. Riehn failed to protect me and my interests. He collected a paycheck and went through the motions, as I see it. That is certainly the effect of having hired him. My impression of him is a guy who seems to have no desire to prepare a case, who just wants to enter the courtroom swinging and pound the other side into submission, sort of like a boxing match. If that's all you need, this is certainly your guy. Word in Barry county is there's probably no one better at it. If you need someone to provide legal counsel, to formulate a plan for you to regain what has been wrongfully taken from you in a family law situation, someone who will work with you and coach you on how to get what you came to him for, you need to keep looking. Making your future ex cry in court may be personally vindicating, but it's nowhere near enough to restore and protect your rights as a parent.
