John Lister Whiteside

John Whiteside was my brother's court appointed attorney. I was notified of his court date the afternoon prior to his court appearance the next morning. I was told by several patient's family members not to use John Whiteside's services but given the short notice decided I had very little choice. We ...had met with John for maybe 10-15 minutes that afternoon during which he continuously tried to convince my brother to agree with the petition and take the judge's sentencing even though my brother had already made it clear he wanted to fight the case. I told John that I would be appearing in court and wanted a chance to speak. During the court appearance John did not give permission for me to speak nor did he fight for my brother's case. Please take my advice and speak with an attorney who will sit with you for more than 15 minutes and takes the time to hear your side so they can properly represent you. My brother has a mental illness and would of been better off representing himself!!!
