Rachael "was easy to talk to, and fair - yet relentless in a resolution."
Rachael Kennedy has practiced law in the Columbia area since 1998. Born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas, Rachael received her undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas and completed her law degree at the University of Missouri School of Law in 1997. She started her solo practice in 2001.
More Than 20 Years Experience
Rachael's practice focuses on estate planning and management. That includes wills and trusts, durable powers of attorney, healthcare directives, end-of-life planning, etc. She also works with clients in the courtroom for guardianships, conservatorships, and probating estates (managing the court process after death). Rachael's 20+ years of family law practice gives her an edge when dealing with the strain and family drama that can come following the death of a loved one or family member.
Rachael has put in an extensive amount of time with mediations: 250 hours of training and more than 6000 hours of mediations. This experience, combined with her sensitive, intuitive nature, allows Rachael to understand her clients’ experiences in a way that makes the entire legal process more manageable. She helps her clients predict what might happen next and gives them some sense of control during a difficult time.
Personal injury cases are another of Rachael's areas of expertise. She helps clients through the legal and personal issues that inevitably occur after an injury.
Rachael serves on the Board of Directors for Mediation Achieving Results for Children (MARCH), and has, for 20 years, been actively involved with this organization which provides free and low costs mediation. She has presented at regional, national and international conferences of AFCC - the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
Rachael offers a free 30-minute consultation to help potential clients focus their efforts on resolution.

"I endorse this lawyer. Rachael is a talented attorney who will fight for her clients. She is honest and trustworthy and her clients can always depend on her."
"I have known Rachel as a fellow attorney for several years, including having her as an attorney representing the opposing party. She has always been honest, reasonable and forthcoming to practice with, all while advocating strongly for her client. I consider her with high regard and she is an attorney that I refer cases to for clients where I am unable to represent them because I know they will be in good hands."
"Rachael really cares about her clients and was so helpful to me as a new attorney. Thanks Rachael!"
