Mr. Viets negotiated a drug treatment program and avoided receiving long prison sentence. On the second case he combined it with the first and w...as able to keep the outcome the same. November 2017, I met with Columbia Attorney, Dan Viets regarding a case against me by Columbia Public Schools. This case was a result of a school bus crash where I was riding and received moderate injuries. Columbia Public Schools and Workman’s Comprehensive Insurance accused me of fraud for the cl...aims made regarding the injuries I received from the crash. Up until I met with Dan Viets it was like noone believed what I told them, and I was made to appear a criminal. At the first visit, Dan Viets felt strongly that there was a strong case that could go in my favor and he proceeded to work on it and prepare for a court hearing. He interviewed not only me, but also my Mother and she was able to provide facts and pictures to show my injuries were valid and required medical attention. For over a year Dan Viets worked diligently on my case and on December 26, 2018 I received a letter from Dan Viets the court ruled in my favor and I was found innocent of all charges. Dan Viets and his entire staff treated me and my family with dignity, professionalism and proved he believed in me and the honest recollection I gave of the school bus crash. I am extremely pleased at the result of the hearing and if not for the hard work, long hours and diligence to prove me innocent this situation could have had a much different outcome.

I hired Mr Viets almost 20 yrs ago on a drug charge where I was looking at 65 yrs in prison. I had never been in any trouble before and I was from a different state, alone and scared!! He pleaded my case to where I was sentenced to 5 yrs probation!! I couldn’t believe it !!
