David L. Bolander has been guiding clients through the legal challenges of divorce, death, custody issues, and abuse in St. Joseph and Northwest Missouri since 1997. David says, “Every day I see families being torn apart by separation, divorce, addictions, and abuse. Children suffer long term effects from these situations. As an attorney, I try to minimize the negative effects on the children, bring families together when possible, and provide permanent, positive solutions. I want to offer hope for a more secure and stable future.”
After graduating from Elwood High School in 1988, David attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, for one year. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Eastern University, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1992. David met his wife Sue, who is originally from Connecticut, at Eastern. They were married in 1993. David and Sue moved to St. Joseph in 1994, and David began law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He received his law degree in May, 1997, and opened his law office in October of that year.
David and Sue continue to reside in St. Joseph, Missouri. They have two children, Matthew and Sarah, who attend St. Joseph Christian School. They are active members at Brookdale Church where Sue is employed as the Director of Children’s Ministries. Outside of his law practice, David enjoys history, sports (especially baseball), bicycling, scouting, and family.
