The State charged our client with Capital Murder, and the evidence against him included video showing the client and complainant on the train platform having some type of verbal exchange, the client a ... nd the complainant walking together towards the location where the complainant's body was found, the client leaving the location 1 minute 20 seconds later, and the client pulling a gun on neighbor in the parking lot just after the complainant died. We pushed hard on the issue that the State could not prove that our Client committed a robbery. As a result, the jury found him NOT GUILTY of Capital Murder and guilty of the lesser offense of murder, and they sentenced him to 25 years. The offer prior to trial was 50 years.
