In 2009, Mudd was called to defend a home remodeler accused by the government of being part of a large-scale drug trafficking conspiracy. Each of the co-defendants entered guilty pleas in the months l ... eading up to trial, leaving Mudd's client as the only remaining defendant prior to trial. The client faced a minimum sentence of no less than 10 years and no more than life. Only a few days before the trial was to begin, the government dismissed all charges against Mudd's client.

In 2008, Mudd was called to defend a man accused of causing a violent highway wreck which caused his front-seat passenger to be injured when she was ejected from the vehicle, as well as resulting in th ... e near death of a rear-seat passenger. The wreck occurred when the client pulled his vehicle out onto highway in front of an oncoming vehicle, resulting in a high speed rear-end collision that catapulted the client's vehicle off the highway and down an embankment. Following a lengthy trial, the jury found Mudd's client only 10% at fault, and assessed the remaining 90% of the fault against the driver of other vehicle.

Mudd was called to defend an Ohio man accused of causing the deaths of an elderly couple whose vehicle ran off the interstate, crossed the median and collided with an oncoming semi-truck. The client ad ... mitted at the scene that he had swerved his vehicle just before the accident occurred, but the scientific evidence suggested that the driver of the other vehicle was speeding in excess of the posted limited when their vehicle left the highway. The monetary claims being made against the client were for in excess of $5 million. Following a lengthy jury trial, the jury found the plaintiffs' damages to be only a small fraction of the amount claimed, and then determined the deceased driver to have been 65% at fault for causing the wreck and those damages.
