Honest advice

I went to Rekha about my immigration case. I had gone to another attorney and wanted to get a second opinion. I was confused and needed to make sure I was filing the right documents. I am really glad I did because I think I may have saved myself a whole lot of time and money. I showed her the doc...uments that i was given by the other lawyer and asked her if I should file them. Before she did anything else, she asked me if I understood everything that was going on with my case. I told her I was really confused so she said that before she looked at everything, she wanted to first make sure I understood what was going on with my case. Rekha also let me ask as many questions I needed to make sure I fully understood my situation. Once we got done talking, I knew I did not need the papers I had brought from the other attorney and more importantly, I knew why I did not need them. This was one attorney who really gave me good and honest information. I am really glad that I went and got a second opinion. She was really helpful.

Gives a 110% and works really hard

I was referred to Sharma-Crawford because I had a really hard case. I had been to many different lawyers and kept being told that if anyone could help me, they could. I had been trying to fix my case for the past 12 years and I had given up all hope. I decided to call them before I gave up. Rekha... met with me and spent over an hour reviewing my case. She did not allow me to make any excuses. She is as tough as they say she is! BUT, she works harder than any lawyer I have ever met. It is clear she loves the law and when she finds a unique or interesting argument, she is obsessed! I could not believe how hard she worked for me at just the consultation! So many lawyers I met would meet with me for 15-20 minutes and tell me there was nothing to be done. Rekha never gave up and she never let me give up. She worked on my case for months until she found a way to help me. She also helped me understand what was going on with my case. No one had ever told me what or why they were doing things, but Rekha would always say "it is your life, you have to understand". I am so grateful to have found her. I can not thank her enough. She was a blessing to me and my family.

She did what no one else could

I went to Rekha Sharma-Crawford after I was told by EVERY lawyer in town that I had no way to do anything with my case. I was afraid and my wife thought she was going to have to spend her life alone. Ms. Rekha worked hard for me and my family. She told us what our options were, she helped us under...stand why our case was so hard, and then, she helped me stay with my family. I can not thank her and her firm enough. She told me right from the start that I would have to work with her and get her the information she needed. She also told me that if I was willing to fight, she would fight with me. People told me she was tough and I was nervous when I met her. But then I realized that it is her toughness that makes her good and it is why I respect her a lot. She will force you to fight as hard as you can, but she will absolutely have your back. She saved my family. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Tough, Honest, Aggressive...AMAZING.

Rekha and her team are one of a kind. They are creative in the way they approach cases and defend immigrants. I was sure I would get deported, but they fought my case to victory. My case took almost 2 years to finish, but they always kept me informed. They wanted me to understand my options and m...y case. She is tough and no nonsense. You really want her in your corner. I was lucky to have found her and her office. They are the best attorneys in Kansas City, if not in the country.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
