Michael D. Pospisil

I graduated from Creighton University in 1993 and from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1996. I clerked for Justice William Connolly of the Nebraska Supreme Court my first year following graduation. During that year I learned a tremendous amount about åthe practice of both trial and appellate law. The experience has served me well throughout my career and I would not change it for anything. In 1997, my family and I moved to Kansas City where I began working at Bryan Cave LLP - a multinational law firm. While there, I worked on civil litigation matters of all types, focusing heavily on class action litigation. I was part of H&R Block's national class action defense team at Bryan Cave and practiced in jurisdictions all across the United States. In 2005, I moved from representing and defending mostly large corporate clients to representing plaintiffs - both businesses and individuals. I did so as a partner at Edgar Law Firm LLC - a top litigation boutique firm in Kansas City. While there, I was part of the trial team that secured a $43 Million settlement of a business dispute on behalf of a small business owner. The settlement came at the end of a six-week jury trial. While at Edgar Law Firm, I tried cases and argued appellate matters all across the Country. In 2016, I argued a case before the United States Supreme Court. My case was one of approximately seventy heard that term -- out of more than 10,000 appeals filed with the Supreme Court. In January of 2018, my partner and I formed Pospisil Swift LLC. Our areas of practice are similar to those areas I've practiced for the past twenty-two years. We handle business disputes and lawsuits, personal injury lawsuits, and all types of appellate work. We pride ourselves is providing quality work at a fast and efficient rate. Personally, I am the proud husband of Katie - a former nurse and now high school librarian. I am also the proud father of two daughters - one currently a junior at the University of Missouri and the other a junior in high school.
