If he plead guilty and the judge sentenced him to pay a fine then that is all it should be.

You need a lawyer. If you plead guilty you'll have a stealing convert cation and you'll have a hard time getting a job, if you ever want one.

The judge does not have to set an appeal bond. You need to file a motion to set an appeal bond.
