I found this attorney through a federal employee resource website that claimed to offer discounted services for government workers. Unfortunately, my experience with Mr. Pietz has been devastating. From the very beginning, he showed little effort or compassion in representing me. He refused to includ...e critical personal evidence and firsthand experiences that could have supported my case. He was aware that the government was going through reductions in force, and now immediately after court and during this shutdown, I’ve been left struggling to pay my balance. I explained clearly that without an approved budget, we lose overtime — yet instead of understanding, I was met with threats when I couldn’t pay immediately after court. I’m a single, hardworking mother with no living family, having just bought my first home nine months ago. I’m trying to refinance and take out an equity loan, so I can’t even open a credit card right now. I recently went through an incredibly traumatic and unjust custody case, filled with false accusations and parental alienation. Despite being the stable parent, the court ruled against me, and I’m now ordered to pay child support for the child my ex kept from me — something I simply cannot afford right now and was completely unexpected. On top of that, I’ve faced major unexpected expenses: an emergency root canal and crown, a broken window repair, and now car repairs — all of which I’ve provided proof for. I even communicated my hardship to his assistant, who assured me that they understood. Yet when I reminded Mr. Pietz of that conversation, he denied it entirely. And now, despite everything, he’s suing me — during a government shutdown, when federal workers are struggling just to get by. So much for supporting the very people this firm claims to stand behind. I’ve never felt so dismissed or unsupported in my life. I cannot in good conscience recommend this law firm to anyone, especially to other federal employees who deserve real advocacy, not added hardship. I have no problem keeping my promise to pay my remaining balance, but to have no grace, compassion, or understanding, and to threaten and sue me during this time is unbelievable.
