Litigation 80%

I am recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Missouri-Kansas SuperLawyers, and Best of the Bar for my expertise in Business & Commercial Litigation, Antitrust, Intellectual Property Litigation, and Bet-the-Company Litigation. I am a member of the Bars of Missouri and Kansas, and the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas federal courts. Subspecialties include presenting and challenging expert witnesses in a variety of scientific and professional areas, and damage claims.

Antitrust and Trade Law 5%

I have tried to verdict both civil and criminal antitrust cases. I argued and won an antitrust standing case before the United States Supreme Court. I acted as one of the lead counsel in multiparty antitrust litigation. I have also tried unfair competition, tortious interference, RICO and trademark infringement cases.

Contracts and Agreements 5%

In addition to litigating and enforcing contracts, I counsel clients about contracts they have entered into or are considering. Sometimes this involves helping them negotiate or draft contracts. Often, litigation is a possibility that the client must address.

Intellectual Property 5%

My practice includes intellectual property litigation. I do not file or prosecute patents, copyrights, or trademarks myself.

White Collar Crime 5%

The site's name for this topic is unfortunate. My practice includes white collar criminal defense; I do not practice white collar crime. In addition to trying an antitrust prosecution, a tax evasion case, an extortion case, and a bank robbery, I persuaded a Court to dismiss a theft of trade secrets case and persuaded a federal prosecutor to drop a bank fraud case against a client. I also represent witnesses and businesses in criminal investigations and in responding to subpoenas.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
