William Harlin Vance

Will approaches cases by taking a "whole person" picture of his client.  In doing so, he has successfully negotiated dismissals of false allegations, prevented his clients from being classified as felons for life, and saved his client's licenses from being suspended.  Will has conducted dozens of hearings and trials.  

Will attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law in 2022 and became a member of the UMKC Law Review. Additionally, he was a member of the Post-Conviction Remedies Clinic in which he performed multiple field investigations, drafted legal briefs, and submitted those briefs to appellate courts on the state and federal level. His work has been used to file petitions in the United States Supreme Court to work towards releasing innocent individuals from death row.

Will started with Benjamin Law Firm as a clerk in 2023 and continued to work there through law school. As a clerk, he obtained his Rule 13 “student” certification and was able to gain practical experience under the supervision of attorneys at Benjamin Law. He graduated with his J.D. in 2025 and looks forward to using his degree to achieve the best legal outcomes for his clients and give them a well-deserved second, third, or fourth chance at life.

Will currently lives in Kansas City with his Labrador-Heeler mix Dude and in his free time enjoys going on hikes, reading fantasy, watching the Chiefs, and homebrewing mead and wine.
