Posted by anonymous | April 13, 2021 | Hired Attorney | Divorce & Separation

I feel completely ripped off by him at Boehmer Law Firm.

This was my first time needing a lawyer. I needed one because of an inevitable divorce. This guy just charged and charged for so much BS that I dont ever want to hire another lawyer again in my life. Initial consultation was ok and was told it should be quick and easy. $2500 deposit for his service...s and then so much changed from that consultation. My divorce had really nothing crazy to go over with my ex, but the fees he came up with just kept coming. I felt like I was taken advantage of because Covid locked everything down. There wasn't a court to go to, but I kept getting charged for so much. I didn't take anything from the divorce but I ended up with around $11,000 in charges for his 'services' I asked two other lawyers what they'd do in this situation and was told I am being ripped off from what it sounds like. No court, and nothing but back and forth with the other attorney shouldn't have added up to nearly that much. With that total of fees one would've thought I was fighting over everything and I wanted everything. That was anything but the truth. I didn't want anything. 1. Getting a hold of him was incredibly hard to do. I would leave messages and he'd get back to me on the Friday before the weekend. He did that for a couple of months. Always telling me he was busy, but would always call me back at that time, so when that time came I knew he was going to call me. That is If he actually called. Sometimes he wouldn't call and there'd be whatever reason. 2. Most of what we talked about when he did call was about questions I asked a couple of months earlier or in emails months earlier. I equated it to purchasing an item from a retain store ten or more times, and always being charged the same amount. Every time we would talk I'd go over the same things I went over the previous month or week. The same questions I'd ask him he said he'd ask the other attorney and we'd go over it together. Continuously this is what it was like with him. It came to a point where my frustration with everything came through and I called him out on it. No real resolution. Never admitted to it, but always had some excuse that I knew was a lie. 3. Courts were closed during most of this time until July 2020 came around and I finally got my paperwork signed by the judge. There was only one day of court and that was me sitting there for two hours. That was during the separation process and me getting whatever I got because my ex didn't agree to anything. ONE TWO HOUR DAY OF COURT and everything else I was charged for was back and forth with the other attorney and whatever his aide was doing. This was it. He could never explain to me why the charges were so much, but had no problem adding them over the months. I wouldnt hear from him for so long but all of a sudden I was charged a couple thousand more for what? Nothing but him saying he's working with the other attorney. This is when I went to another attorney to get his opinion. This is when I was told that I'm being 'railroaded' because of covid and no income coming into the firm. I had to ask the lawyer to my brothers company what he thought and he was shocked at all the bills. I'm a very trusting person, but all that I've heard about with lawyers came to fruition with Kevin Morris. I feel completely ripped off by him and what he said to me. Telling me things would be changed on the paperwork, but never actually were the next month. The next billable hour he sent me. Being charged for the same thing over and over is criminal. Now I'm fighting with my ex because of his agreement he told me he changed, but was never changed. Being told one thing and then another happening is my experience with Kevin Morris and Boehmer law Firm. I was completely ripped off by the lies.
