Check your credit report to see if the company claims to own the right to collect the loan.
Who owns the debt? Has it been sold? Does the owner of the debt have the necessary proof? FDCPA action?
There may be non-bankruptcy, administrative discharge/relief available.
Look at the reporting date of the lender to the CRA (Credit Reporting Agency) and the date of the account.
You didn't mention bankruptcy as an option... You can finesse a summons by filing bankruptcy, shouldn't you be considering bankruptcy.
