Veronica Johnson

I had approached Ms. Johnson about a discrimination case at my workplace which would be her specialty. After reviewing all the facts with her she decided to go ahead and offer me a contingency. She had advised me upfront that her contingency rate was at 40% which I felt was a little high but she did ...let me know that was non negotiable right there and then. After reviewing possibilities I decided that I wanted to go ahead and have Ms. Johnson represent me for my claim against my employer. Ms Johnson advised me that all I had to do was sign a retainer agreement and that we could proceed with my case, however upon reviewing this contract it was very apparent that this was not a contingency basis. I got in contact with Ms Johnson and questioned her about the specific deceitful language used in this retainer agreement. She did not offer anything other than long drawn-out explanations that made absolutely no sense. After multiple reviews of the retainer agreement and keeping in contact with other lawyers I came to find out that not only was this not a contingency basis, but that according to the language used not only would I have to pay out of pocket but that either way win or lose they would still get their fees. After meticulous research and advice from other attorneys I had another form of the original retainer agreement written up with language that was fair for both parties and which would truly make this a real contingency agreement. I sent this to Veronica mitiple times and never got a response back. After a few weeks of no response and multiple emails I received a letter saying that she hasn't heard from me and I haven't kept in contact.
