T.J. is a lifesaver

I was facing charges resulting from a civil case I filed against a former employer and was scared to death. I am a Paralegal but have practiced family law for the majority of my career, and I now understand why they say a lawyer should never represent themselves. It's too personal. T.J. put up wit...h all my questions and all my crap for lack of a better word during this whole process. He reassured me he felt their case had no merit just to be patient. Low and behold, all he had to do is take a day to take depositions and a few days later the County Attorney dropped the case. Thank you T.J. for all you did and all you put up with me! I would recommend T.J. to anyone going through a tough time and need someone dependable and honest to represent them. Again, T.J., Thanks will never be enough for what you did for me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

"The Thoughtful Lawyer"

My son‘s case was very troubling for us as a family. He was facing felony charges and substantial prison time. My son Alex is my first born whom I love very. He got himself into legal matters bad decisions and actions. T.J. helped him enter into a diversion program and all my son had to do was fellow... the rules of the program and all would be forgiven. But, Alex failed in the program and was expelled from it. In order to enter into the diversion one must enter a guilty plea if you are expelled from the diversion it’s straight to sentencing. When Alex went into the program T.J.’s job was finished. We were pleased with the outcome. Alex in the program conducted through the CA’s office, long story short not complying with the rules more than a year later we had an intervention at the CA’s office and T.J. joined in on this meeting; remind you more than a year later and his job was done. T.J. spoke for my son on his character and the concerns us as a family had with Alex’s mental health. Fast, forward 6-7 months later Alex was arrested again, T.J. was contacted by the CA’s office simply because he was the last “attorney on file.” Now, T.J. could have given me a spiel that had to do with getting a “public defender,” but he did not, instead he said; “let me look into it.” Who does that other than someone who cares? Fast forward T.J. got my son’s case resolved with my son getting the help he needs with his mental health, his plea of guilty removed, and very well will have all his charges dropped. People, this doesn’t happen, but T.J. made it possible. I don’t give you this information to entertain you but to give you first a glimpse of this man’s character and then his abilities as an attorney. If you need an attorney that cares, has a heart, makes themselves available to you, one who doesn’t keep “bankers hours”, one who doesn’t rest until they get their clients the optimal outcome, one who is compassionate (yes I’m describing an attorney), one who’s not letting money be their “guiding principle” then you need to retain Mark Matthes (T.J.). I know how troubling and lonely it feels to go through a legal matter where civil liberties such as your freedom is at risk, you need to surround yourself with the best possible support and defense and I tell you, you will find that support and help in T.J. Through, this process I’ve learned just how respected T.J. is by prosecutors and judges, how well known he is by persons quite frankly it is their job to give you jail time. I recall in the intervention the Circuit Attorney saying to my son “You have support you have help and you have one of the best attorney’s in the state.” People this is spoken from the mouth of a person that it is their job to lock you up. And, in that moment how thankful we were for T.J. I would recommend T.J. to anyone that is in need of a defense attorney. Your first defense is the quality of attorney you hire. Thank you T.J. for everything you have done for our son.
