Kirk remains actively involved in the legal profession, with his work now centered primarily on strategic leadership, attorney development, legal education, and oversight of Stange Law Firm’s multi-state domestic relations practice.

Kirk founded Stange Law Firm, PC in 2007. Under his leadership, the firm has grown from one office into a substantial multi-state family law practice representing individuals in divorce, child custody, child support, property division, spousal maintenance, paternity, prenuptial agreements, adoption, and other domestic relations matters.

Earlier in his career, Kirk devoted much of his practice to contested family law litigation. He represented clients in hearings, trials, appeals, and other difficult domestic relations proceedings. That courtroom experience continues to inform his approach to attorney training, case strategy, law firm leadership, and client service.

Kirk is also trained as a mediator, collaborative law attorney, and guardian ad litem. These roles have given him experience with litigation, negotiated settlements, collaborative resolutions, and matters involving the welfare of children.

Kirk has presented continuing legal education programs for The Missouri Bar, the National Business Institute, and other legal education organizations. His presentations have covered family law, evidence, trial advocacy, legal technology, social media, professional development, and law practice management.

In 2014, he presented at the Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, regarding social media evidence for attorneys and judges. The Missouri Bar recognized Kirk in its 2017 Best of CLE Spotlight for his substantial contributions to continuing legal education programs. He has also served as a mentor through The Missouri Bar Mentoring Program.

Kirk has served as an adjunct professor and trial instructor at Emory University School of Law through its Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques. He is a member of the Law Society at the University of Missouri School of Law and serves as President of the Missouri Collaborative Institute.

Kirk earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Fontbonne University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law. During law school, he was selected for membership in the Order of the Barristers in recognition of his courtroom advocacy skills. He was also a finalist in the school’s fall moot court competition and participated on its regional moot court team.

Kirk scored in the top ten percent of all examinees on the July 2000 Missouri Bar Examination. He later completed the American Bar Association Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute.

Kirk has co-authored chapters and updates in Missouri Family Law, published by The Missouri Bar. His contributions have addressed adult protection orders, child protection orders, child abuse allegations in domestic cases, and the rights of unmarried parents.
