Daniel Patrick Finney III

Daniel P. Finney III began his legal career as an assistant Circuit Attorney in the City of Saint Louis after graduating from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2005.   He prosecuted crimes committed in the City of Saint Louis, starting with misdemeanors, and later trying felony guns and drug cases.  He left for private practice in January 2008.    

Since that time, Dan has focused his practice on the representation of individuals both as plaintiffs and defendants, in all manners of civil litigation, including but not limited to premises liability, wrongful death, professional malpractice, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, automobile negligence, breach of contract, real estate litigation and civil rights litigation.  He has represented businesses, both as plaintiff and defendant, in claims of professional malpractice, employment discrimination, breach of contract, and condemnation involving commercial real estate.

Dan has appeared before the Circuit Courts of the State of Missouri and the State of Illinois, Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, and United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.  
 
He has been inducted as a life member to the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forums, is rated by Super Lawyers as being in the top 5% of Lawyers in Missouri, and was recognized as an Up and Coming Lawyer in 2016 by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly.      

In August 2017, Dan was appointed by Governor Greitens to serve a two-year term as one of five Commissioners on the Missouri Gaming Commission.  The Commission is charged with oversight of the Gaming Industry in Missouri, an industry which grossed over $2.1 billion last year. 

Dan is a charter board member of Birdies for Bipolar, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2012.  The mission of Birdies for Bipolar is to remove the stigma and fear surrounding mental illness, allowing others to productively confront mental illness and improve their mental health.

He lives in University City with his wife and two children.
