Tim Krieger focuses on complex intellectual property matters in both state and federal courts throughout the United States. He is also experienced in handling commercial and contract disputes.
Tim prosecutes and defends claims of patent, copyright, and trademark infringement and trade secret misappropriation for individuals and private and public companies involving a wide array of products. Products defended and intellectual property protected includes watercraft, pipeline rehabilitation technology, LED warning signal lights, Telecom expense management software, gaming machines, cable video-on-demand, computer hardware and software, and private label food.
Much of Tim’s work includes counseling clients in business transactions that involve intellectual property rights, including software and patent licensing agreements, non-compete agreements, and mergers and acquisitions due diligence.
Tim has two Bachelor of Science degrees, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics from Saint Louis University. He earned his law degree at Washington University School of Law. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Kathy Surratt-States in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He also worked for five years as an electrical engineer in automobile manufacturing plants and electrical power plants after receiving his undergraduate degrees.
He is admitted to practice in the following U.S. District Courts: Eastern District of Missouri, Southern District of Illinois and Eastern District of Texas. He is also admitted in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Tim was named a "Rising Star" by Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers® (2011-2012 and is a winner of the Burton Award for Legal Achievement in association with The Library of Congress (2007).
