A straight forward case in which the executor and his attorney were not acting in our best interests. We were the only two heirs and spent >100K to protect ourselves from the executor and his attorney. The judge did not adhere to probate law. He was not impartial or professional. Mr. Oshel was not... able to protect us or have the executor removed, despite the executor's gross mismanagement and theft. We lost over 400K due to executor's misconduct. Mr. Oshel did not recover any of the loss from the executor. Mr. Oshel blew through a 10K retainer in <6 months and was only able to correct one error. His staff sent many letters filled with spelling and grammar errors. If you need an estate lawyer in southern Illinois, hire an estate attorney from St. Louis or Chicago. It will be less expensive in the end. An exceptional lawyer is needed to navigate the judicial system. Mr. Oshel is not capable of overcoming the hurdles of a complex case, other attorneys, or an unbalanced judicial system.
