A Mt. Sterling, Illinois, attorney and CPA, Heidi Scott maintains a general law practice and provides clients with representation in diverse tax law, real estate, and estate planning matters. Heidi Scott is also the owner of Schuyler-Brown Land Title, where she provides title insurance, escrow and closing services for residential, commercial and industrial clients, lenders, developers and real estate professionals. In her government position, Ms. Scott provided the state legislature with specialized support in areas such as drafting bills and regulations, and undertaking litigation in tax matters. Her work ensuring that tax laws were fairly enforced involved coordination with criminal investigators, the the Attorney General's Office, and the Department of Revenue. Among her achievements was setting in place the 35 ILCS 5/502 law’s Innocent Spouse Relief provision.

Ms. Scott maintains an active community presence and was elected to a position on the board of trustees of the Brown County Public Library in 2012. In this role, her efforts have included assisting the board in the passage of a groundbreaking building and maintenance tax ordinance that helped it meet operational costs.
