Mr. Levant secured what was the largest settlement ever paid by the City of Philadelphia to date in a civil rights case involving a wrongful police shooting. Mr. Levant's client was an innocent home o ... wner shot inside of his own house while doing nothing wrong. In fact, the officer entered the home as a result of a series of errors including the improper handling of a 911 call and the officer brandishing his gun even though there was no evidence of a crime in progress. During the discovery process, Mr. Levant was able to prove that the officer who fired the shot had recently been the subject of a questionable shooting and had not been through the proper review and disciplinary proceedings before being placed back on the street.
