By the end of trial, the judge saw his claims to be fictitious, and awarded my clients $1,310.64 in security deposit, $800.00 in statutory damages, and over $4,000.00 in attorney fees for what they had to pay me to defend them and assert their counter-claims.

Despite filing the usury counter-claims and warning the plaintiff's attorney of the consequences, the plaintiff and her attorney still pressed the case forward to trial. I successfully got the plaintiff's debt/contract claim dismissed, and got a five-figure verdict awarded to my clients for the plaintiff's knowing and intentional violations of Texas usury laws.
