Biography
Originally from Kansas, Dane came to Illinois for college and has called Illinois home ever since. Dane graduated from Northeastern Illinois University, Summa Cum Laude, in 2008 with a degree in history.
From 2009 to 2012, Dane attended the University of Illinois College of Law. While attending law school, Dane gained practical experience as a law clerk at an Urbana, Illinois law firm and interned with Judge Brian L. McPheters in Champaign County, Illinois and Judges Rebecca S. Foley and Lee Ann Hill in McLean County, Illinois.
After graduating from law school and passing the bar exam in 2012, Dane began working as an associate at the Ansel Law Ltd law firm in Champaign, Illinois. Dane remained at Ansel Law, Ltd. until the firm’s attorneys all joined Meyer Capel on April 1, 2016. During his time at Ansel Law, Dane successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants involved in a variety of disputes through all stages of litigation. Dane developed and honed skills as a litigator while investigating claims or defenses, drafting pleadings, and marshalling evidence for trial. Dane continues to work on a variety of civil litigation at Meyer Capel.
Dane is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Champaign County (Illinois) Bar Association.
