Lawyer Quit because I asked him what he was doing for me

My company had me under a CDL protection program and they gave us Mr Necheles as our attorney. From the Get GO Mr. Necheles could not remember my name. Out of the blue, Mr. Necheles sends me a text saying that I need to sign a guilty plea and at no point had he ever called me or asked me what had ha...ppened, he just immediately assumed I was guilty. After back and forth with him, my company got involved as Mr. Necheles was not listening to me. My company tried to ask him what he was doing to protect me and that the company had documentation to prove that I was not guilty. After a few weeks, Mr. Necheles tells me that if i chose to fight this case, that he will withdraw as my lawyer. On the motion to dismiss, he claimed that continued representation would violate Various Illinois Supreme Court rules of professional conduct. Which he also didnt type my name correctly on the motion to withdraw. He kept saying that what I had was a paper case and told me that he wasnt the greatest attorney and that with my case another attorney might agree with what i had but that he thought all i had was a paper case. the day of the case came by the Company CEO came with me to court. My employer showed the prosecutor the same paperwork i had provided Mr. Necheles and the prosector said that everything was in check and dismissed the case. Mr. Necheles wanted me to sign a guilty plea so that i would have 6 months to pay, while my company got my case dismissed. Mr Necheles kept trying to coerce me to sign the guilty plea telling me that what was my company's motive and that he was trying to protect my CDL, while i sign a guilty plea. This Attorney made me feel like all he wanted was my money and at no point cared about what i had to say that could have protected me

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education

  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
