More Than Satisfied and Thankful!

My first appointment to the law office set the tone of professionalism. From the front receptionist, Paralegal, and Ed. Ed listened and reassured us that he would handle the case successfully. I worked with Lori, Paralegal, most of the time. She was efficient, pleasant, and exceptionally easy to... work with. At the end, I would highly recommend G. Edward Murphy and his firm to take care of any legal matters that may arise. I was more than happy with the outcome of my case.

Only concerned with closing your case

I gave one star because you have to provide a rating for a review. My divorce was a little ugly. Upon my consultation, I retained Ed because he talked well. He even convinced me to not consult with David Lynch, who my ex wife later retained. There is a great friendship between these two attorney'...s and that is not good for you. Dave is definitely the Alpha in this relationship. Not once did Ed or his staff advocate for me, everything they said to me always centered around what opposing council asked, not what was right for me. They were very concerned with collecting data, which adds to their bill, but not once did they actually use this data for anything other than convincing me that the IL statute splits everything down the middle. I think I could have split everything down the middle for a lot less than $15K. I even gathered data twice because the associate attorney I was supposed to have help left the firm the week after I sat with him. I sat and negotiated a deal in open court, then Ed let further negotiations occur after court and when I was upset I was told that it just had to get done to make Dave happy. I was forced to comply because I didn't have any money to fire Ed and hire someone else, but hey I signed it so I'm responsible. After this wonderful decree, I have been back in court with my ex because that's how she is. Ed's game of having you work through a paralegal is genius because from an ethics complaint you have nothing to stand on. My ex is the type where I have to keep a divorce lawyer on retainer. Ed wants your money, do yourself a favor and pick a lawyer who will advocate for you, your physician will be happy with the lower stress levels.

It is a little hard to respond to this negative review when the person posting it does not have enough guts to put his name on the review. It is easy to complain anonymously when we cannot defend ourselves. My office does several hundred divorce cases per year and we have many against David Lynch. I do not know who this client is, but I can assure you we would be more than happy to respond with actual details if we could. Overall, all I can say is that divorce is a nasty business and we do our best to satisfy every client. We do not always succeed, as in this case. I am sorry he is unhappy but I do not know why when he never complained to us directly and allowed us to fix any perceived errors. I can assure you we would never do a deal just to make the other attorney happy. That is a ridiculous statement and totally not true. I will always tell my client the truth and sometimes they do not like the truth and get mad. I cannot change the law. I cannot change the facts. We do our best to get the best result possible and sometimes clients are not happy with the law applied to their factual situation. If this was the case here, I am sorry that he is unhappy.

Trusted legal council I recommend Ed

Ed and his team have demonstrated that they are the dominate legal council in the Peoria area. Ed can be trusted to deliver and defend you for the most difficult cases. My ex wife filed a HIPPA case against my wife to gain access to medical records to ecploit my wife and restrict parenting time and... Ed worked closely with us to settle outside of court. Friday before the hearing my ex wife declined any settlement and the hearing was set for Monday. Eds team worked through the weekend and developed a solid case with legal precedence and solidly one the case protecting my wife's legal rights to protect her personal medical records. I fully trust Ed and his team and recommend his team even for the the most difficult cases.

5 Stars

Ed Murphy represented me in a Divorce case and recently in a Child Support case. He was extremely efficient, competent and knew exactly what approach to take to attain a positive outcome to these cases. He was very reasonable and would give constructive advice when he thought that I was being ... unrealistic about issues that I thought may be relevant. He will fight for you and is excellent at mediating differences between parties and in achieving solutions. He also listens very well and tries to enact a clients objectives. So I made sure to tell Ed how that I wanted to approach issues and he was excellent in advocating this for me. His staff is top notch and efficient. Unlike some other attorneys, you won't waste time on needless and costly commucation (e.g., lengthy emails, phone conversations, etc.) just to pad the attorney's pockets. He is very cost effective and conscientious about expenses that you may incur. In the courtroom, Ed is thorough, knowledgeable, and quick on his feet "so to speak." You know and the opposing attorney knows that he is going to advocate and fight for you. Ed is also very good in mediating agreements between parties with good outcomes. I couldn't have had better representation.

Master at work

Mr. Murphy is a master strategist and negotiator. He and his team does excellent work. Thinking of every angle in the case, they are proactive with data, filings and records. Although case results vary, am offering some advice: hire an experienced lawyer with countless resources, be familiar with... and have all financial records and other pertinent documents, describe all facts, do not hold back the smallest of details, know your strategies and the consequences, do your best to remove your emotions, and trust Mr. Murphy and his team will have your best interest at heart. I will be grateful for the rest of my life to Mr. Murphy and his team for everything they did obtaining a successful outcome, financially speaking. Mr. Murphy is highly recommended in my book.
