In 1975, I opened the Law Office of Arthur J. Inman in Peoria in order to provide quality, knowledgeable criminal defense representation to defendants throughout Illinois. I have more than 35 years of combined experience in criminal defense and prosecution.
I represent clients in all areas of criminal law, including DWI/DUI, revoked licenses, white-collar crimes, drug charges, violent crimes, assault and battery, sexual assault, and criminal appeals. I serve clients throughout Illinois, including the counties of Macon, Tazewell, Rock Island and McDonough, and the cities and surrounding areas of Pekin, Decatur, Bloomington, Galesburg, Rock Island, and Macomb.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1964 and my Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1967. I am admitted to practice in all Illinois state and federal courts, including:
Before opening the Law Office of Arthur J. Inman, I was an Assistant State’s Attorney in the counties of Vermilion, Sangamon, and Peoria for nearly eight years. During this time, I learned how to try cases, as well as what to consider in deciding whether to prosecute. I use this prosecutorial background to analyze and prepare your defense.
My professional associations include the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the Peoria County Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Within the Illinois State Bar Association, I am a member of the Criminal Justice Section and the Human Rights Section. I have been recognized for my exemplary work in criminal defense by being selected by my fellow members to serve as chair of the Criminal Justice Section Council once and chair of the Human Rights Section Council twice.
In addition to my professional memberships, I have also served as an instructor in trial technique and tactics for a program co-sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Illinois State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. Here, I was present to provide a defense perspective on prosecutor’s instructions and served in this program from 1978 to 1994.
If you are suffering from the effects of a revoked license or have been charged with a criminal offense, including DWI / DUI, sexual assault, a drug-related offense, or another criminal law matter, please contact me at the Law Office of Arthur J. Inman at.
