Faye M. Lyon

Attorney Faye M. Lyon was born in and has been a life-long resident of Rockford. She has been practicing law since 1987, focusing and specializing in the area of family law, which not only encompasses dissolution of marriage or divorce work, custody and child support, but also includes wills, trusts, estates, juvenile, paternity, guardianships, collection matters and real estate.

Attorney Lyon is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Winnebago County Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association, having served as President from 1991-1993. As a member of the Winnebago County Bar Association, she is involved with the Family Law Section, serving as the Chairman of the Facilitation Committee, the Children’s Advocacy Section, the Estate Section, and the Real Estate Section. In 1991, she received the award of Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year.

Outside of her law practice, she has served the community in such civic organizations as Loves Park Rotary, YWCA Women’s Leadership Luncheon, and the MILL, serving as President for two years. Attorney Lyon also served as a Member of the Illinois State Advisory Committee for the United States Civil Rights Commission for ten years, serving as Chairman of that Committee from 1990 through 1994.

Attorney Lyon is committed to working hard for each client she has, whether the case has little or no assets, to cases in which there are substantial assets. She has a minor degree in business, as well as over twenty-five years of experience behind her, as she aggressively works on each client’s case. She also understands that each case is a client’s life, comprised of not just numbers, but infused with many assorted emotional issues.
