GREAT Lawyer!

Jim Mertes is a great lawyer. He has represented me twice now, and I have referred my family and friends to him. They have also been thrilled with him. You can actually see him in action by searching his name in youtube and watching his opening and closing arguments in a first degree murder trial.... After that three-week trial, his client was found not guilty of first degree murder in just 22 minutes! My case was not nearly as big as that case, but he treated it with just as much care and attention.

Great experience

James Mertes represented me after I was injured in a car wreck. He explained everything very well to me throughout the process. He was professional and hard-working, and I was extremely happy with the outcome of the case. My whole family uses him now.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
