I wish I’d known! Please take heed to these reviews. They are all accurate. He will take your money and ignore you. He did to to me with a child support case. He gave me false information and completely mishandled my case. Im now forking up more money to get new counsel. Whatever you do, do NOT get d...raw in by his low fees. You will indeed get what you pay for.

This guy Taj Lamar Smith was referred to my friend and took her retainer for her case and several payments. He literally stopped answering or conducting any work on her case after like 5 weeks and never responded to giving her any of her money back. She had to take him to court, sue him, file complai...nts with the state of Illinois, the CBA, the Supreme Court of Illinois, and had to hire a whole other attorney to get some of her money back. This guy, who did zero work told her that “he earned her money.” My God, this guy is a Scam Artist and you know how you can tell? What reputable attorney doesn’t have ANY public profile, anywhere? No pictures on LinkedIn, no official website, nothing. You know why? Because he scams people often and doesn’t want to show his face publicly due to so many scams . After she filed all these lawsuits against him, there were sooo many people who came forward about this guy. How is he even still allowed to practice? Disgusting and is a disgraceful and deceitful human!!!

I was a client of Taj Smith and unbeknownst to me during my litigation between me and Children's father he stopped answering my calls and e-mails he was always paid on time and I gave several referrals which turned into clients for him and even after he stopped answering my calls he was able to respo...nd to a new referral I sent him. I don’t believe Taj ever recused himself from my case at least he never told me that because that’s illegal if ive paid to retain you which I have the documents to prove and when he LOST my last case he told me he would do his appearances for free. I’m not the only client who he has done this too as well, Taj only has time for who Taj has time for and I wouldn’t recommend him AT ALL
