Unprofessionalism at its finest

Myself, nor my family, have ever been more dismissed and taken advantage of by anyone as we were by Kurczaba Law Office. The lack of professional courtesy, customer service, and proper business practices at this law office makes it mind-boggling to me that they not only have such a high rating, but a...re in business at all. My first interaction with the team, specifically Chris, was very pleasant and encouraging. This was the interaction that made me decide on this firm to help me with my immigration needs. In the very beginning, I couldn't have been more pleased. There were many encouraging interactions and quick responses. However, after I paid the initial $6000...the phone calls started to become mostly ignored, the emails were mostly ignored, and the frustration started mounting. On the rare occasion that I did get to speak to someone at the desk, they were frustrated to be answering the phone and couldn't have sounded more put-off to just be speaking to me. Finally, after what seemed an eternity, we moved to the second stage (and second set of fees) of our visa application (after the petition approval). This is where things really went south. When I went to pay the Thousands of dollars more that they quoted me to have them help with the forms (to get us documentarily approved through the National Visa Center), they DOUBLED the fee. Not exaggerating...Doubled it! I fought. I was told "Prices have changed since we started". Still i fought back, saying that this was ridicules, and unfair, that I had a quote. The response to that was "He must have quoted you wrong". I couldn't believe that a law firm would take advantage of me and my family like that. After a LOT of deliberation my wife and I decided to pay the Grossly engorged fee. What else could we do? It had already taken WAY more time than we had been told in the beginning, and we needed to get this done. After that, it was the same story as the first time. Once payment had been made, my emails and calls went mostly unanswered. Finally we got our interview. My email about uploading a few extra forms went ignored. As such, when I was there at the consulate for our interview, they told me that we didn't have all of our forms uploaded. Thankfully, they gave me till the end of the day to upload it myself. I would give less than one star if I could, and I would suggest that you VERY much consider a different law office for your immigration needs. As for the fee? I'd say get it in writing, but I had that and they still ignored it. This will forever be the Worst part of my experience immigrating to the United States.

Poor Quality

I used Mr. Kurczaba's services in 2005 with regards to Humaniatarian Parole for my grandfather. Mr. Kurczaba was knowledgable in regards to the information gathering, however his execution and conduct in composing a comprehensive request package was substandard. The Humanitarian Request letter compo...sed by him (or his firm) contained spelling mistakes, incomplete sentences and errors pertaining to events and situations. The cost of writing this letter was (in 2005) $700. When I tried to contact Mr. Kurczaba regarding status of the case, my telephone calls were not returned. Neither was I given any response after I sent Mr. Kurczaba and his associate Mr. Whitcup a letter. I finally had to drive to his office to demand a status update. It turned out that his law firm mailed the letter 3 months after my request. The letter was also sent to DHS without my approval and full of mistakes. It is my belief that Mr. Kurczaba and his law partner prey on Polish immigrants who have poor language skills. I would never recommend this firm to anyone who has important immigration issues.

The review does not account for the proper procedures and agreement as to how a client matter was handled. The reviewer is not the actual client involved in the matter. My partner had completed and filed a detailed comprehensive request for review to the Immigration Service. This type of review asks the Immigration Service to consider the totality of circumstances and to utilize their discretionary authority to excuse transgressions in the Immigration Law. The actual client, the child of the applicant, not the grandchild who wrote the review, was advised of the difficulty in obtaining an approval in this matter. The discretionary nature of this matter was thoroughly discussed with the actual client. The application was filed at the client's request, despite the difficulty of obtaining an approval, and was solely based on information provided by the client. Never was there a discussion that the grandchild would review the application or make comments prior to filing. The client was advised that they would have to wait for a reply from the Immigration Service which could take a long period of time. The client, not their child, was advised as to the status of the application. Upon receipt of the decision, unfortunately a denial in the difficult matter, the issues were discussed with the client at length. The client understood the reasons for the denial. The client could contest the decision and file an appeal, they chose not to. The client also did not complain nor comment on any of the work performed for them in this matter. Contrary to the reviewers contentions, the request did not contain numerous spelling errors. That the grandchild chose to use caustic terms and phraseology in reply to their grandfather not getting a visa approval is an unfairly vindictive approach not based on facts or knowledge of the difficulty of obtaining an approval. The Immigration Service denied the application based on the totality of circumstances of the case, of which the client was well aware. The Immigration Service did not deny the case citing any problems with the facts, nor because of spelling errors. My partner and I have served thousands of clients of various ethnic backgrounds and have served as the Presidents and on the Boards of numerous Polish American social, political, cultural and educational organizations. We have an excellent reputation in the community and amongst our thousands of satisfied clients. We pride ourselves on having clients be able to discuss matter with us at any time. We would have been more than happy to review this matter with the client should they have expressed that they were unsatisfied with our services.
