Bottom line, Staci should definitely charge more! Staci was a referral from our buyers agent and worked very hard and effectively for us on a recent condo purchase from a relocation firm (read as motivated seller). The price we got was very good but the seller wanted to close quickly and sell "as i...s". The closing was little more than a week after the offer was accepted, but Staci still made sure every i was dotted and t crossed well ahead of time. Her understanding of title, condo and Chicago real estate law seemed unusually strong and I never once felt our interests were anything but the top of her agenda. Staci pushed hard to get concessions for us and clearly enjoyed advocating for her clients against a stubborn opponent. At closing, when I saw how little she was getting paid for several hours of work, I told her she should bill at a higher rate. In fact, Staci's negotiations based on the inspection got us a credit that was more than her bill. If I had let her have fun with it, we might have ended up with one or two thousand more. With lawyers, you don't always get what you pay for, but with Staci we got more than we paid for.
