Justin Strane guided myself and my partner through the purchase of our first home. We appreciated his expertise in the legal realm and specifically the real estate process. We trusted his advice during contract negotiations and the closing process. His efforts resulted in an efficient closing, during... which time he was able to streamline our review of the most pertinent information for our situation while also explaining more template-driven information. With COVID-19 adaptations at play, Justin was present virtually for our closing and the process was smooth, safe, and enjoyable -- a genuine compliment when a situation involves reviewing and signing over 100 pages of documentation. Additionally, Justin was able to support us in drawing up a non-traditional cohabitation agreement, which gave us peace of mind that we have the legal documentation in place to protect us both. His flexibility, responsiveness, and diligence made us grateful to have him as our legal representative.

I hired Justin to represent me during my purchase of a condo in Chicago. What started as a pretty straightforward transaction became very thorny when, while under contract, problems in the building were brought to light. Justin worked very hard to help me negotiate with the sellers' attorney (who was..., shall we say, less than responsive). Justin gave me solid counsel, provided me realistic and prudent options to choose from, was always responsive to my emails, and in the end helped craft and ratify a contract addendum which both saved the deal and provided me with post-settlement protections against special assessments that could have resulted in thousands of dollars out of my pocket otherwise. Even a year after closing, when I had an important question on the contract addendum, he responded immediately and helped get me the information I needed. I'm a big, big fan of Justin's work and I highly recommend his services to anyone. He has a no-nonsense, straightforward style, is deeply committed to his clients' best interest, and provides a level of service which is both welcome and (in my experience) rare.

I was in the process of expanding my business into a larger space and didn't feel as if the leasing agreement was in my favor. To my disgust, I was more than right. Without the legal consultation from Justin Strane, I would have made the biggest financial mistake of my life. This lessening agreement ...would've brankrupt me and washed 6 years of hard work down the drain with a single signature. I am beyond grateful for his knowledge, expertise, and exceptional legal guidance. As long as he is practicing law, he will be the only lawyer I will ever use to handle my business affairs.

Justin represented me in tenant/landlord dispute that was a clear breach of contract. He was unfortunately too terrified of the presiding judge and refused to submit highly-relevant evidence I requested be included. Pictures I had available to present, but balked. Moreover, failed to even request ba...sic filing fees due and owing be paid by defendant. When preparing for hearing, I asked attorney Strane if he had questions prepared to ask Landlord-defendant, and he replied that he would wait and ask based on what opposing counsel put forth. No apparent guidance for the new (5 years out of law school) attorney by his firm Ansari & Shapiro, who also dropped the ball in disposition hearing. Their main goal was to win on Count that is a cut-and-dry statute re: security deposit, then collect on attorneys' fees. When I asked that a portion of that (less than 1/3) be forwarded to me -- a ridiculously equitable request, his partners refused. A tremendously bad experience...
