Going pro-se is always a mistake unless you have attended law school. Your public defender did.
Is a search warrant valid if the date is printed incorrect? Or can this be considered a typo in the courts eyes.

Hard to say. Sometimes they call it a scrivenor's error, and sometimes the law says the warrant must be served within a time frame from the date...

Only if he successfully appeals the conviction and is granted a new trial. No, you don't get credit for time served on a completely different case.
