There is no set amount of time at all. If you are eligible to file for citizenship, that is what you should do rather than wait for the 751 decision.

They are taking almost a year for FOIA responses at CBP. You can try an I-102 if you have proof of your date and time of admission.

It depends what your legal status is in the U.S. If you were admitted to the U.S. as a tourist, then you are not eligible for any kind of work permit.

She can call, but they are not legally obligation to remove you from the U.S. unless you have violated your status here.
