Dishonest and rude

Condescending and rude. Refused to look through all evidence. Completely unreasonable because and seemed like he wanted to not be there. Should have at least reviewed documentation.

Helped me to NOT file bankruptcy.

I went to Mr. Moreno when I was sued by a credit card company for about 14k. I was ready to file bankruptcy. When I contacted Mr. Moreno, he asked me about the total debt I have. I told him that the credit card was pretty much it. I had paid off most of my other bills. It was just that card I couldn'...t handle. He said before I file for bankruptcy, we should see what if anything he could do about the credit card lawsuit. So instead of hiring him for the bankruptcy, I hired him to represent me in the lawsuit by the credit card company. He told me they are rarely prepared to go to trial and will often dismiss a case if a Defendant pushes it to trial. That's what he did. First, he got the cases dismissed because they didn't have the credit card agreement. They just amended their complaint. He then set the case for trial. When the case was called, the credit card company wasn't able to proceed and they dismissed the case. Mr. Moreno told me they had a year to re-file their case. It has been over two years and they never refiled the case. So I was able to get rid of the credit card debt and not file bankruptcy. I was really happy. I think he is a great lawyer.

Helped with my bankruptcy and foreclosure

My husband and I went to Mr. Moreno for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. We were nervous, but he explained everything and made us feel very comfortable with how the whole thing would work out. We filled out his forms and provided the documents he requested. We filed our case and everything went smoothly. M...r. Moreno also represented us in our foreclosure and we were able to stay in our home for about three years after the bankruptcy. I never thought we would be able to stay that long.

Much better than my first lawyer

I filed bankruptcy twice; once over ten years ago with another attorney, and then again about three years ago with Mr. Moreno. The difference was night and day. The first guy charged me almost triple what I paid to Mr. Moreno and he was pretty difficult to work with. I found out recently that my ...old attorney got in trouble with the State bar so I guess now I know why he was so bad. Anyway, I decided to go with someone new and found Mr. Moreno. He was really good about explaining everything to me and walking through the whole thing with me. We worked mainly through email. I emailed my paperwork to him and he emailed drafts to me. I didn't have to go to his office until I looked over the final draft and said everything was okay. Once I said everything was okay, then I went in to sign. The whole thing went smoothly and I was really pleased, especially since my first attorney was such a jerk.

Great deal!

Mr. Moreno did my Chapter 7 a few years back. I just saw this site and thought I'd add my two cents. I had a bunch of credit card debt, some student loans and some medical bills. I wasn't making a lot so I called around to a couple of different bankruptcy attorneys. Mr. Moreno charged about half ...of what the other attorneys were looking for. I paid $500 for his fee and about $300 for the filing fee. The other people I called wanted at least a thousand for their fee. He was really helpful and straightforward. He explained the whole thing to me, sent me drafts of my bankruptcy petition through email so I could look it over on my time rather than make an appointment and go over everything. He told me to take my time so we could get it right the first time and was always good about answering my questions. (He preferred questions through email, which worked for me). That said, the price was the clincher for why I went to him. I know people in similar circumstances to me who filed Chapter 7s too and they paid a lot more. This guy was good, fast and, best of all, cheap.
