Jonathan Brian Merel

Jonathan Merel was referred to me by a friend of my Mother who had recently gotten divorced. Prior to calling him I was unsure of what steps to take and what to expect. Jonathan showed immediate concern for both myself and my children. Though my Ex's attorney was more than willing to wait until the last minute to make changes to language in the MSA and disagree with language that we had face to face meetings to discuss, Jonathan always contacted me immediately, was prompt in his responses and showed me that he truly cared about my case no matter how difficult and challenging my case became. In closing, I feel that I made the right choice in picking Jonathan and Merel Family Law to represent me. I had always assumed that my case would be just another job to whomever represented me but Jonathan made me feel that he cared about my case, about the well being of my children and cared about my well being after the divorce. Jonathan was very responsive from the beginning. We met, reviewed the situation and how I was feeling, he encouraged me to take some time to figure out what I really wanted and explained certain outcomes to me. The lawyer on the other side was pretty ruthless and Jonathan kept his professional tact a...nd cut right to the chase, leaving the unnecessary emotional cuts out of the situation, which I greatly appreciated. He faithfully read my emails and preferred a phone call to address my concerns without too much back and forth. I did feel like the lawyer on the other side had a different agenda, one to take me down personally and therefore spent a lot more time meeting with my ex and reviewing and adjusting the documents.
