Ashley Nicole Garfield

I received my Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago after graduating with Two Bachelor of Arts degree(s) in psychology and Spanish from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I earned her degree with the Highest Distinction at Michigan. I am licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and am a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.

While at the University of Michigan, I researched the effect of bonding and father-child attachment and its the role in custody matters. That research served as a springboard for my work in the family law field, to which I have devoted my highly successful career. I have focused exclusively on divorce and parentage matters since graduation from law school.

I am an ardent advocate for the rights of my clients and have won numerous courtroom victories. I have a deep knowledge of family law and my devotion to the practice of law has formed the foundation of my success which include clients obtaining sole custody in high-conflict divorce cases. In addition, I have defended clients from adverse findings by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS); protected children from domestic violence; and, in an exceptional case, secured custody for a military member stationed overseas. Additionally, I presented at a conference at the Great Lakes Naval Base, instructing military personnel in matters regarding custody, visitation and child support.
