Copyright Infringement mitigation assistance

I had a run in with a copyright attorney recently, for torrenting a movie online. They came at me with a potential copyright infringement lawsuit. After some research on the matter, I found Paul through Antonelli Law. After a semi brief consultation, I felt comfortable moving forward with his repre...sentation. He was able to help avoid an official court case in a timely manner, and was able to get the settlement lowered to the bare minimum. I would certainly recommend him to anyone going through a similar situation.

Quick, Helpful, Calming

I was in a panic when I received a letter from my internet provider about a subpoena. I contacted a lawyer from another group and he made me even more stressed, I then contacted Paul and he immediately made me feel better, very patient and got my initial settlement greatly reduced and in a very short... time frame. I would go with him immediately if you get into a similar situation.

Knowledgeable, sincere, and empathetic.

I called up Antonelli law firm, where Paul is an associate attorney. The main attorney was not available, but Paul was able to speak to me, when I was hit by a Strike Three motion to gain my identity. I had done a bit of research after my heart had recovered after reading the motion, and asked Paul... for guidance. He gave good advice, and he didn't make me feel like a pariah or extremely foolish. Although indeed I was quite foolish. When it came time to negotiate a settlement, I felt confident with having Paul on my side as the person who would speak for me. I had lost my job due to the virus, so finances have been tough, and Paul did his best to negotiate a reasonable settlement. I believe if you need a copyright infringement attorney, then Paul is your guy. It's important to find someone you can trust, and he's definitely someone I would recommend in the future.

Concise, helpful and understanding

Paul was clear in all of his communications, and confident wtih his advice. He educated me as to what would happen and it happened just that way. He was fast and quick with his communication. He understood what I needed and took care to understand what my concerns were. His communication addresse...d those concerns positively, putting me at ease. He has good style and "bedside manner" while being a strong attorney and powerful negotiator. I do not hesitate to recommend him.

Missed Appointments, Poor Communication, Failed to keep me anonymous

Paul represented me (via Antonelli Law) in my Strike 3 case. Throughout the process, he contacted me late for multiple meetings and even contacted me once midway through a scheduled meeting (which he hadn’t showed for) to say he wasn’t coming and we would have to reschedule. He failed to negotiat...e an anonymous settlement, which is advertised as one of the main perks of using Antonelli Law. Instead, my personal information was released to Strike 3 midway through negotiations. Remaining anonymous was of the utmost importance to me, and Paul and Antonelli Law failed to deliver on that promise. He was unfriendly and closed throughout the process, occasionally implying that I was being dishonest with him - which I wasn’t, of course. Instead of Paul representing me in negotiations with Strike 3, I felt like I was having to negotiate with Paul. I can’t recommend his services to anyone. He gets 2 stars instead of 1 because in the end he technically did negotiate a settlement value equal to the maximum amount I stated I was able to pay, even after pressuring me to pay more several times.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
