David R. Butzen

David Butzen is a principal shareholder at Ambrose Butzen Law Group, P.C. and has extensive litigation experience in both state and federal courts.  He began his career by having the distinct honor of serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Daniel P. Ward, Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court.  In 1989, he joined the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office as a prosecutor and had the opportunity to handle hundreds of cases, including several high-profile capital cases, before the United States Supreme Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, Appellate Courts and trial courts, as well as the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1992, Mr. Butzen entered private practice and concentrated primarily in the area of plaintiff’s personal injury and commercial litigation. He has tried to verdict over 30 cases and has also resolved many cases through the use of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Butzen’s efforts have been instrumental in recovering in excess of $30,000,000 for the clients he has represented.
