Extremely Poor Legal Representation

I retained Charles Bracey in 2023 for legal representation on a divorce case. It was the worst decision I could have made. He was ineffective on my case never collecting discovery documentation from opposing counsel. We had no record of the other party’s assets due to the lack of due diligence by Cha...rles Bracey. He lacked poor communication about court appearances. The only time his communication was clear was when he wanted to collect payment. Most times, he was unavailable and unreachable. He lacked professionalism, becoming combative a few times, because I questioned the direction of my case. He threatened to drop the case on more than one occasion. He advised me to hire a private investigator to obtain information he should have obtained during the discovery process. He tendered all of my information to the opposing counsel and could have requested the same. He strongly advised me to send subpoenas to creditors (civil domestic violence case), which would have been a complete waste of my financial resources, but would have been billable hours/money for him. He refused to request maintenance for me, however, my then spouse was permitted to file for maintenance from me. He also refused to move forward with my Civil Case (Domestic Violence) that was consolidated into my divorce case by opposing counsel (Lee Jacobson - #62988 - of Jacobson Legal Services). Towards the end of my case in Sept./Oct 2025, he informed me that he was walking away from my case and I should settle the case, which I did, due to his inability to produce any results. It was a waste of my financial resources to continue to pay him for nothing/no results. He divulged my residency to the opposing counsel, asked me to produce my financial bank statements after the discovery process had been completed to provide to the opposing counsel as well as himself, to which I refused. He was working against me at several times during my divorce. I felt as though there was collusion present during the divorce proceedings. He abandoned my case and me by not making himself available to answer questions that I had on the paperwork he tendered to me for signature (MSA). I tried to contact him via phone and email to which he did not respond nor reply. He was available because it was not more than 5-7 minutes after he sent the paperwork to me. At a time when I was emotionally vulnerable and under duress, the person that I hired went MIA. This attorney and his business practices are a disgrace to his profession. I was then harassed by his staff for final payment for his lackluster services. I would strongly recommend anyone considering this attorney or his firm to RUN…..VERY QUICKLY…DON’T WALK…FAR AWAY FROM THIS FIRM!!

Custody Litigiation

I have not received proper legal counsel, service, or representation. Bracey dragged out my case with sole intent to personally gain. My daughter and I were in dire need of service. Yet my case was prolonged and delayed, Charles was very passive and relaxed handling business that should have been ha...ndled diligently, timely, and passionately. He did not return calls, texts, or emails. It was thoroughly conveyed through Bracey's practices that the legal procedures and counsel given by Charles was time wasting. The respondent of my case violated a court order numerous of times in which I obtained myself by filing a pro se motion of parentage. It's undisputed that a rule for contempt should have been initiated, executed, and warranted against my respondent. Considering the vast amount of evidence I submitted and the time that I put into my case gathering details, dates, time, and all persons associated with my concern its concluded and prominent that Charles work, time, and attention to my case was discreet. Charles passively advocated my circumstance and I have lost a lot of time and money gaining nothing. According to another law firm, which will remain nameless, "I was losing my case; Charles [was] moving backwards. The first and only petition and motion that should have been filed was a contempt order for my visitation being withheld through a court order I was an awarded with a pro se. Nothing but continuances was permitted allowing the mother to abuse, dictate, and override my father's right, state legislation, and court order.
