Thomas F. Villanti

Thomas Villanti concentrates his practice on complex family law cases, including the distribution of multi-million dollar estates and complicated child custody disputes.  His comprehensive representation includes all aspects of family law, including contested court proceedings, complex negotiation and financial analysis.  Mr. Villanti takes special interest in the unique issues particularly relevant to celebrities’ and professional athletes' family law needs.

Mr. Villanti utilizes his calm demeanor, efficient work-style and business background to achieve the best results possible for his clients.  He services a wide-range of clients, from athletes and entertainers to professionals and business persons, and equally their spouses and significant others.  He focuses on his clients’ necessary issues to expedite their divorce process.  As an effective advocate, Thomas Villanti maintains consistent communication with his clients to best represent their needs and to make a potentially overwhelming experience easier for his clients to understand.

Mr. Villanti began his career with Schiller DuCanto and Fleck LLP in 2007 and became an associate with the firm in 2008 after receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida. While in law school, Mr. Villanti earned a certificate in Collaborative Law, was awarded the Honors designation for his legal research and writing, and served as a Teaching Assistant in the Legal Research and Writing Department.  Mr. Villanti also holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida. 

Prior to joining Schiller, DuCanto and Fleck LLP, Mr. Villanti worked at the Virgil Hawkins Civil Legal Clinic in Gainesville, Florida, where he served as legal counsel to indigent men and women involved in family law proceedings.  Mr. Villanti also interned with Florida's Second District Court of Appeals and worked for an estate planning law practice in Gainesville, Florida.

Mr. Villanti now co-authors a monthly column, “Sporting Judgment,” for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.  His articles highlight unique family law issues that arise with sports and entertainment professionals.  As an experienced associate, Illinois Super Lawyers magazine has named Thomas Villanti a “Rising Star” for three consecutive years.
