Great Attorney, great staff

Sean Chaudhuri successfully represented me in a divorce case, Throughout the process, he was at all times exceptionally efficient, professional and astute in matters of divorce law. This has to be the worst law firm in Chicago. They are just interested in their billing & nothing else. Please do not waste your money on these clowns. They will take you on a ride only to threaten you with withdrawal. Sean is arrogant, condescending & absolutely incompetent. Terrible!!!

Truly awful

I will not be giving some information as my case is still pending but I hired Mr. Chaudhuri for a case of mine recently. I went to his office, gave him some information, paid him, set up arrangements for further payments, signed paperwork and left, confident that I had finally found someone to advoc...ate for me during this difficult time. Mr. Chaudhuri appeared on my behalf at court, corresponded with the opposing attorney and led me to believe that he was working diligently on my behalf. Fast forward to the day before my trial is to start. I receive a phone call from him stating that no settlement could be reached, trial was proceeding the next day and that he no longer wanted any part of my case. I was floored. And devastated. As this was already afternoon I was obviously not going to be finding anyone else to take my case. I asked Mr. Chaudhuri how he could possibly just withdraw from my case, especially the day befre trial. His response was that he never actually filed an appearance on my behalf. So, in short, I was screwed. I tried to get him to change his mind but he was firm. He then hung up on me. Just said, over and over again, I can't do it. I don't want to go to trial. I tried calling back a few times but was then told if I called again he would call the police. A couple hours later he actually calls me back and says that his conscience won't let him make me go to trial alone the next day. He said that he would accompany me to court but only as an adviser, not as my attorney of record. I agreed and he instructed me to call him in the morning. Of course, when I called the following morning he did not answer the phone. Apparently he worked things out with his conscience. I tried calling a couple more times but his paralegal, Nancy, told me that he was not in the office. Ironically enough, I could hear him talking in the background. One other thing, during the initial conversation when Sean told me he was dropping my case I had asked what time court was on the following day. He then told me it was at 2pm. So I arrived at the courthouse the following day at 2pm. Only to find out that I was supposed to have been there at 9am and that I had already been defaulted. The judge was not inclined to listen at all and I have gone to a great deal of trouble and expense trying to minimize the damage that was done.
