Marisa Ann Gelabert

Marisa A. Gelabert is an Associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard who represents individuals and families impacted by personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death. After joining the firm as a law clerk in 2022, Ms. Gelabert became an attorney in 2024 and has quickly gained valuable experience handling high-stakes cases.

Ms. Gelabert has already helped obtain significant results for her clients. In 2025, she was part of a trial team that won a $20.5 million jury verdict on behalf of a young girl in remission from leukemia who died from morphine toxicity caused by medications prescribed by her healthcare providers. That same year, she obtained a $9.1 million settlement on behalf of the family of a 22-year-old bicyclist who was struck and killed by a motorist. The lawsuit claimed construction in the area forced drivers into the designated bike lane, creating a dangerous route for cyclists.

Ms. Gelabert’s experience with complex litigation began during her time as a law clerk with Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard. During that time, she assisted on a birth injury case that resulted in a $75.9 million jury verdict on behalf of a young girl who suffered severe and permanent injuries at birth. She also played a significant role in the firm’s litigation involving former Northwestern University athletes who filed hazing lawsuits against the school.

Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Gelabert served as a LexisNexis student associate at Chicago-Kent for two years. She graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology before earning her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Ms. Gelabert distinguished herself during law school, receiving several awards and honors for her academic achievements. While attending Chicago-Kent College of Law, she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and received Best Brief in the 2023 Civil Rights & Liberties Moot Court Competition. She also received CALI Awards for earning the highest grade in Evidence, Trial Advocacy I, and Pre-Trial Litigation.

Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Gelabert enjoys running and walking her dogs along the Chicago lakefront.
