Amazing Lawyer

Kathryn and her team were absolutely essentially in helping me navigate my divorce. She is practical and very knowledgeable. She truly made what could be a brutal process borderline enjoyable. I cannot recommend her enough.

Highly Recommended

I received a referral for Katy from an acquaintance and she was my first consultation, which was held at a very nice and modern office in downtown Chicago. I was able to meet multiple members of her team during the consultation and she walked through how she saw my case going. Having just been served... and never working with an attorney before I was very anxious about the whole situation, but her confidence and thoroughness during the consultation was very impressive. I had another consultation lined up, but felt confident after that first meeting to retain her services. During the divorce process, her team was communicative and responsive while remaining mindful of cost. When the opposition threw us some curveballs, Katy and her team were quick to react while presenting me my options. I never felt like they tried to push me into any one scenario, giving me the advice and knowledge to do what I felt was best for my situation. In spite of the aforementioned curveballs and tension from the opposition, Katy was able to achieve a settlement agreement that was aligned with and protective of my interests that felt like the best case scenario. While divorce is not a pleasant process by any means, I felt comforted and protected by Katy and her team during the entire process. I hope no one I know has to ever have a divorce, but if they do I would 100% send them her way.

Highly Recommended!!

I was in year three of a grueling and testy divorce when a friend mentioned Kathryn Homburger Mickelson with BEERMANN LLP to me. She had represented my friend in an exceedingly difficult divorce and she highly recommended I contact her. At the time I had an attorney, so months went by before I con...tacted Katy. I cannot tell you how thankful I am that I did. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner. In hindsight, I realize the quality of your attorney is as vast as the quality of a finding a good doctor. Nothing is more important than having someone represent you who understands what is needed for you and your family. Needless to say, if you are going through something as important and serious as a divorce, especially when children are involved, I can unequivocally recommend Katy to represent you. While my reasons are many to highly recommend Katy, the most important of them is that she is smart, strong and sincerely empathetic to your situation and needs. In a matter of weeks it was as if she had known me for 10 years; I don’t know how she does it. Thank you sincerely Katy for all you have done for me and my children. I am forever grateful. -Kelsey

Child Custody

I have worked with Katy for 7 years, and she has been outstanding as a lawyer. I have had some very difficult situations with my child’s father, and Katy has always been there to support me legally. Katy is quick to respond, communicates very well, and fights for what is just. I highly recommend Katy... for your family law needs.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
