David L. Duran

David L. Durán is an Associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard who focuses his practice on personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death cases.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Durán has helped obtain several million-dollar settlements, including a $7 million settlement in a Cook County medical negligence case, a $4.5 million Cook County wrongful death settlement, a $1.8 million Cook County misdiagnosis settlement, and a $1.6 million settlement in a Peoria County wrongful death case.

Mr. Durán’s experience with high-stakes litigation began before he became an attorney. He began working as a law clerk at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard in 2022. During that time, he assisted a trial team that won a record-breaking $363 million jury verdict in the first trial against medical sterilization plant Sterigenics. He also worked on a medical negligence case that resulted in a $75 million verdict for the family of a young girl who suffered permanent injuries at birth.

Today, Mr. Durán draws on that early courtroom experience when representing his own clients. He takes a thoughtful and thorough approach to each case, working to understand not only what happened, but how an injury has affected his clients and their families.

In recognition of his success in the courtroom, Mr. Durán has been named to Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” list and Super Lawyers’ “Rising Stars” list.

Before joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, Mr. Durán gained additional legal experience as a student extern for the Honorable Alison C. Conlon. His early exposure to litigation and the court system helped shape his approach to his cases.

Mr. Durán is committed to continuing to develop his skills as a trial attorney and is active in several legal organizations, including the American Association for Justice, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association.

Mr. Durán graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree before earning his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2024.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Durán enjoys cooking New Mexican cuisine, reading, playing volleyball, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
